Hispania P&I Correspondents is a company largely servicing the needs of shipowners, their insurers and all other players in the transport chain, including port terminals, road hauliers, freight forwarders and others. Our core business is based on the ability to give an immediate response shipowners' and other transport operators' problems 24/7, in whichever Spanish port. We are primarily English and Spanish qualified lawyers and also negotiate claims and legal proceedings. We deal with merchant vessels, yachts and other types of leisure craft. Our response to vessels' problems includes getting an expert 'on the spot' usually within 1 hour, including the Balearic and Canary Islands. Our business relies heavily on our extensive network of technical suppliers, the majority of whom are surveyors and engineers with maritime and general transport qualifications and experience. However, we also use non-maritime experts for the investigation of accidents, for example architectural or engineering expertise in the event of holiday-makers' accidents, or loss, damage, fire or flooding in any type of business or domestic premises. In addition we offer a full translation service, including in particular the translation of legal texts, primarily English, Spanish and Catalan, but through an international network we can also translate any other language.
