International Tourism Forum in Malaga

Yesterday evening, Wednesday 21st February 2024, the British Chamber of Commerce in Spain, in collaboration with our esteemed member Holiday World Resort, hosted their first interesting and enjoyable International Tourism Event.
Holiday World Resort, is the largest All-Inclusive family resort on the Costa del Sol (Málaga, Spain). The resort offers three four-star hotels (Holiday World Riwo, Holiday World Polynesia and Holiday World Village) and a premium holiday apartment complex (Casamaïa Apartments), a 30000 square metres family Beach Club and a beachfront Sports Centre in Benalmádena Costa.
Not only does it come with unique facilities include 864 spacious family rooms of more than 62 square metres, large swimming pool areas, buffet and themed restaurants with options for all tastes, Spa/Health Club with heated indoor pool and gym, but also with spectacular indoor and outdoor meetings venues, with capacity for up to 1500 people, make Holiday World the perfect choice to host all types of business events. A wide range of events such as weddings and celebrations invites guests to create memorable moments in a unique setting.
The event gave way to networking and marketing opportunities. At the occasion, we had over thirty attendees, both new and distinguished members, proving the Chamber's national reach throughout Andalucia and Spain.
Holiday World’s General Director, Mari Francis Penarroya, welcomed everyone to the Resort and introduced the guests to the different facilities that can be found within the beautiful structures.
Subsequently, Derek A. Langley, the Regional Vice-President of the British Chamber of Commerce in Spain, greeted everyone and gave a brief update on the organization's current and future projects. Furthermore, he gave crucial information on the UK's relationship with Spain from a tourism perspective, which helped guests realise how important British visitors are to Spain and emphasized that Tourism is an important sector for the Chamber.
We were also honoured with the presence of Cristobal Penarroya Sanchez, the founder of Holiday World Resort and a very well-known and distinguished figure in the Malaguenian Business Community.
After taking the stage, Iciar Gatell, Director of Sales and Marketing, and Renee Katchler, Director of Business Development at the Costa del Sol Tourism Board, fascinated the audience with a captivating speech in which they presented various statistics on British visitors to Spain. Iciar Gatell pointing out that England accounts for 45% of the resort's visitor base.
After the presentations, there was a lively networking session, which constituted the second half of the event. A vivacious environment was created for everyone as they took advantage of the chance to have in-depth conversations and make new professional contacts, all the while savouring the delicious food that the Holiday World Resort crew had to offer.
